If you aren’t working at the moment, your spouse (married or de-facto) may be able to make contributions to your super on your behalf. This will help ensure your super balance can still grow while you take time off work. You may also be eligible for a tax offset of up to $540 if you made a contribution on behalf of your spouse, and they’re earning less than $40,000 per annum.
For full details about super-related tax offsets and eligibility criteria, visit the ATO website.
