  • Strengthening your online security with multi-factor authentication

At Resolution Life, protecting our customers’ information is one of our highest priorities. As cyber threats continue to evolve, we’ve introduced MFA for the My Resolution Life portal. This important security enhancement adds an extra layer of protection for your personal information and online accounts.

Why MFA matters

Cybercrime is increasing across Australia, with more sophisticated attacks targeting individuals and organisations every day. The Australian Signals Directorate’s latest report found a steady rise in data breaches and phishing attempts, with incidents reported on average every six minutes.1

In recent years, several large organisations have experienced cyber incidents affecting millions of Australians. These included:

  • A major airline data breach that exposed customer details
  • A telecommunications provider attack involving stolen employee credentials
  • Emerging scams using artificial intelligence and voice cloning to impersonate trusted companies and individuals.

These examples highlight how quickly cyber threats are changing, how sophisticated the threats are becoming, and why stronger security measures are essential.

How MFA protects you

MFA adds an extra step when you sign in to the My Resolution Life portal. After entering your username and password, you’ll be asked to confirm your identity using a code sent to your phone or email address.

This means that even if someone manages to access your password, they still won’t be able to log in without that second form of verification. It’s a simple, effective way to reduce the risk of unauthorised access to your account and personal information.

By introducing MFA, we’re helping to:

  • Strengthen protection of your personal and policy information
  • Reduce the risk of identity theft and fraudulent access
  • Provide greater confidence every time you use the My Resolution Life portal.

In short, MFA makes it much harder for anyone other than you to access your account, even if your password is compromised elsewhere.

Staying safe online

While MFA is an important step, your online security is strongest when paired with good digital habits. We encourage you to:

  • Use strong, unique passwords for each account and consider using a password manager to keep them secure
  • Be cautious of unexpected emails, calls or messages requesting personal details
  • Keep your devices and software up to date with the latest security updates
  • Contact us immediately if you notice any suspicious activity in your account.
  • Check if any of your old passwords have been compromised on haveibeenpwned.com. For any exposed accounts, ensure you reset the password to a new unique password, and never use the exposed password ever again.
