Summary of proposed changes for New Zealand policy owners

We are proposing a change to simplify our structure. This change is subject to regulatory approval and therefore the date below is our best estimate.

Establish a dedicated New Zealand statutory fund  

The assets of some of our Australian policy owners are currently held in a statutory fund that includes both Australian and New Zealand policies. We plan to separate this fund, creating a new statutory fund that will hold only New Zealand policies. All New Zealand policies are expected to move into this fund by 1 October 2026. The original statutory fund will retain the assets of Australian policy owners.

This change will not affect policy benefits, rights, or expectations. An impartial review by our Appointed Actuary has confirmed that policy owner security and financial strength will remain appropriate.

From 2027, we’ll unite our Australian and New Zealand businesses under the Acenda Life brand.
