Portfolio holdings disclosure

Why are we publishing this information?

-  Portfolio holdings disclosure regulations were introduced to provide additional transparency to super fund members where trustees and the fund must disclose the value and weighting of underlying assets within each investment option. The aim is to help members make an informed decision on their investment choice/s for their super. Each fund must update its disclosure every six months (within a 90 day reporting period).

Are all investment options within the fund required to be published under portfolio holdings?

-  Portfolio holdings information isn't required to be published for investment options with a capital guarantee. We have included a list of current exempt options in a file for you to easily download.

-  Other investment options that may not be shown in the list above are due to no current members or funds in the option.

Why are we only showing super products and not investment products?

-  Portfolio holdings disclosure only relates to super products (super fund members).

-  It excludes Conventional (Whole of Life/Endowment), insurance and investment (ordinary) products.

What does 'listed' and 'unlisted' assets mean?

-  Listed assets such as shares are listed on public (stock) exchanges i.e. the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

-  Unlisted asset is an investment not listed on a trading exchange and can include property, infrastructure, private equity etc.

Why do we show at an asset category level and not on a securities/derivatives level?

Equity Trustees Superannuation Limited (Trustee) as trustee of the National Mutual Retirement Fund ABN 76 746 741 299 (Fund) is the issuer of the products in the Fund. Resolution Life Australasia Limited (Resolution Life) is the issuer of life insurance policies to the Trustee for these products. The Trustee, as owner of the life insurance policies, will receive the applicable benefit from Resolution Life, and in turn provides the benefit to eligible Fund members. These life insurance policies are managed by Resolution Life (where each investment option will be presented with Resolution Life as the fund manager and all are externally managed). Therefore, the Trustee is not required to further disclose Resolution Life’s asset holdings but the Trustee does require assets to be divided into asset classes.

Why do some of the asset values and weighting (%) show a negative/minus value?

-  Cash holdings are kept to a minimum and the value may fluctuate above and below zero.
