After a review of Super Retirement Fund (SRF), the Trustee, Equity Trustees Superannuation Limited (ETSL), has decided that winding up SRF and transferring all member accounts to National Mutual Retirement Fund (NMRF) under a Successor Fund Transfer (SFT) is in the best financial interests of members.
Immediately after the end of 30 June 2026, SRF member accounts will transfer to the SRF section of NMRF, and your benefits and rights will remain unchanged. SRF member accounts will be transferred to the SRF section of NMRF immediately after the end of 30 June 2026, and your benefits and rights will stay the same.
ETSL as Trustee for both funds, has undertaken appropriate steps to manage any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest in accordance with its regulatory obligations. Resolution Life Australasia Limited (Resolution Life), which has been the Administrator, Promoter and Investment Manager for SRF, will continue in these roles for the SRF section of NMRF.
Member benefits and rights will stay the same following the transfer. Product features, fees and costs, investment options and insurance cover (if applicable) will also remain the same.
There are no exit fees or transaction costs associated with the transfer.
If the transfer does not go ahead, or is significantly delayed, we will let you know.

What is a Successor Fund Transfer (SFT)?
An SFT involves the transfer of a member’s benefits from one super fund to another where the consent of the individual member isn’t required. The trustee of the transferring fund must satisfy themselves that the transfer is in the best financial interests of members and that members will have “equivalent rights to benefits” in the successor fund.
-
Why is the SFT taking place?
ETSL satisfied itself that the SRF SFT is in the best financial interests of members and that NMRF will provide members with equivalent rights to benefits.
A new section of the NMRF will be established that mirrors the terms of the SRF and the accounts and benefits of SRF members will be transferred into this new ‘SRF section of the NMRF’. Given the new SRF section of the NMRF mirrors the terms of the SRF, transferred members will have ‘equivalent rights to benefits’. ETSL is also satisfied that this transfer is in the best financial interests of transferring members of SRF, and of members of NMRF, because operating one superfund is more efficient and allows for better economies of scale than maintaining two separate superfunds.
-
When will the SFT take place?
The SFT will occur immediately after the end of 30 June 2026.
-
Will I lose any entitlements?
You will not lose any entitlements or benefits due to the SFT.
-
How can I opt out of the transfer?
You can choose not to move to the SRF section of NMRF. Although you cannot remain in SRF, you can either:
- transfer (rollover) your SRF balance to another eligible super fund, or
- withdraw your balance (if you meet a condition of release, such as retirement, reaching your preservation age, turning 65, or permanent incapacity).
To transfer your SRF benefits you can:
- Contact your chosen super fund for their transfer instructions and forms; or
- Log into myGov to view all your super accounts and transfer your balance; or
- Use the ATO’s rollover form to move your entire balance to another fund.
To withdraw your SRF benefits, you can:
- Complete the Benefit Payment Request form at resolutionlife.com.au under Forms and Documents.
We must receive any transfer or withdrawal request along with any necessary documentation before 5pm Tuesday 30 June 2026.
Before deciding to withdraw or transfer your benefit, we recommend you carefully consider your current benefits such as available investment options, fees or insurance options and the effect that any rollover or cashing of your benefit may have upon these. You may lose your insurance cover and, depending on your circumstances, cashing in your benefit may have tax implications. Before making a decision to withdraw or transfer your benefits, we recommend you speak to a financial adviser. You should seek advice from your taxation adviser in relation to taxation matters.
-
I have a claim in progress, how does the SFT impact my claim?
Any account with a claim in progress at the end of 30 June 2026 will be transferred to NMRF.
-
Are there any blackout periods as a result of the change?
No. There are no blackout periods (also known as “limited service periods”) on your account because of this change. If end of year freeze periods apply to your products this will continue to apply.
-
Will my pension payments be impacted by the transfer?
No. If you currently receive a pension from your account in SRF, you will continue to receive your pension after 1 July 2026 from your NMRF account, according to your agreed payment schedule.
-
I am the executor of an estate with an account in SRF, will anything change?
Provided the account remains in force at the end of 30 June 2026, it will be transferred to NMRF. Resolution Life will continue to be the administrator of the account.
-
My account in SRF was closed before 30 June 2026, will it be transferred to NMRF?
Accounts closed on or before 30 June 2026 will not be transferred to NMRF.
-
I have bonus units on my account, will these be transferred?
Yes. Any bonuses on your SRF account as at 30 June 2026 will be transferred to your account in NMRF as part of the SFT.
-
I have terminal bonuses on my whole of life or endowment account, will these be confirmed on transfer?
No, any terminal bonuses on your whole of life or endowment accounts will only be confirmed when you withdraw your funds.
-
Can I still make a contribution into my account before the end of the 2026 financial year?
